Maptech NJ Pines and Down Jersey is a linking affiliate with Maptech. Free USGS Topo Maps, NOAA Nautical Charts, and Aerial Photos
Topozone Offers free topographic maps. Aerial, shaded relief maps, etc. are available with a pro subscription.
Terraserver Microsoft's version of Topozone. Features free topographic maps and aerials.
Historical Maps
Rutgers Historical Maps:
Perhaps one of the best sites for New Jersey Historical maps, with a number of high resolution historical maps. Please note that these maps are available for viewing only; any other use is not permitted.
Unfortunately, abuses of this have led to a curtailing of any future
maps being posted on their site.

Landscape Project download-- The following is available for download:
eight separate shapefiles, one for each major habitat type in New
Jersey (forest, forested wetland, emergent wetland, grassland and
beach) and three species-specific shapefiles (bald eagle foraging area, urban peregrine falcon nest and wood turtle) with FGDC metadata, species look-up tables, and three GIS projects. The maps are best viewed using Arcview 3.x or ArcGIS 8.x. These software products allow the user full functionality for viewing and manipulating Landscape Project data. Non-GIS users can view the maps using ArcExplorer, a free GIS data browser that can be downloaded from the ESRI website.
ArcExplorer allows the user to view GIS data, zoom in and out, perform simple queries and print maps.
NJ Image Warehouse-- orthoimagery, requires Mr Sid Viewer, a free download available on site.
